The complex nature of this project posed challenges on numerous fronts. The materials were expensive, requiring craft and precision, with no room for error. The elements were design-engineered, with attention to many details, including material expansion and contraction from exposure to the elements.  The end result is a beautifully complex awning / trellis structure.
